Readers Respond: Who Will Win The AL West in 2009?

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won the AL West in 2009 by 21 games, their fifth AL West title in the past six years. Are the Rangers, A's or Mariners ready to dethrone them? Make your picks in the division and tell us why.

The Rangers still are lacking respect.I get tired of the news talking about the Yankees or Red Sox. The Yankees' third walk-off win. Who cares. All the Rangers should make the All-Star team based on stats.

Look at the Rangers' lineup - it is potent. Almost every person can hit for power even at the leadoff spot (Kinsler), so far this year the starters have been phenomenal. That's why I think the only problem is the pitching, I'm gonna go with the Rangers and their potent bats. But you know what they say: Defense and pitching wins championships, and I also think that Kinsler, Young and Hamilton are shoo-ins for the All-Star Game. I really want Elvis Andrus to go, but I simply don't think it will happen his rookie year.

Texas Rangers Will Win

Has anyone noticed that they have a potential (or current) All Star at every position? And has anyone noticed they are getting strong performances from every starter? And that they have the strongest minor league system in all of basebal (in case of any injuries)? I don't have them winning any post season series - but my word. This team is stocked to the rafters with high impact bats and loads of power arms on the way... They may win this year... and the next... and the year after...

They will win the 2009 AL West. They just had a rough start and currently have too many injured players. The A's are improved, but still suck. With being only 4 1/2 games back they will dominate over time.

Mariners will take AL West

I think the Oakland is a very improved team with their offense, but unfortunately, the AL West Champion will go to the Mariners due to some of their stable lineups. It is too early in the season to say, yet already, Seattle is on top of their division. I say Texas finish third and Angels finish last because they're not as great as everyone thinks.

1st series ia al west goes to A's

Although game 4 was postponed(due to the death of adenhart( sad momment for baseball))The A's beat the "best team" Angels 2-1 in the series. that says something
