Career Highlights:
- One of the most complete players of his era. Had career .279 average, 438 homers, 1,591 RBI and 314 stolen bases.
- Made eight NL All-Star teams and won eight Gold Gloves.
- NL Rookie of the Year in 1977, when he hit .282 with 19 homers for the Expos.
- Was second in MVP balloting twice when playing for the Expos (1981, 1983). Left Montreal as a free agent and won MVP in his first year with the Cubs, leading the NL with 49 homers and 137 RBI.
- One of three with 400 HRs and 300 SBs. The others were Barry Bonds and Willie Mays.
- Elected to Hall in 2010 in his ninth year on the ballot (77.9 percent of vote).
After Retirement:
Works in the Florida Marlins front office as a special assistant, and earned a World Series ring for his efforts in 2003.
