2008 VORP Pitching Statistics

Value over replacement statistics, for fantasy baseball pitchers' evaluation

By Scott Kendrick, About.com

A useful statistic for fantasy baseball is VORP, which is value over replacement player. For pitchers, it's a measurement of the number of runs he has prevented from scoring that a replacement-level pitcher would have allowed. It's a complex formula that factors in the league average at each position.
