Most underrated fantasy second baseman

Placido Polanco doesn't hit for much power, but he'll score runs and get on base with the best of them.

Placido Polanco, Tigers

Average position ranking on other popular fantasy baseball sites: 12

Why he's not liked: He doesn't steal bases and he doesn’t hit for power (a combined 22 homers the last three years).

Why he should be: He batted .341 and scored 105 runs last season, and the latter number should improve in the Tigers’ loaded lineup in 2008. At a weak position, he could produce the best batting average of any second basemen, and his all-around numbers could be better than all but the top six (Chase Utley, Brandon Phillips, Robinson Cano, Brian Roberts, Dan Uggla and Ian Kinsler).
