From the article: Best Baseball Songs of All-Time
There's one baseball song that everybody knows ("Take Me Out To The Ballgame"), a few others that many people know (such as "Centerfield" and "Talkin' Baseball"), and a lot of other great songs about the national pastime that you might never have heard about. From Baseball Guide Scott Kendrick's list, and perhaps a song or two that he might have missed, what is your favorite baseball song of all-time? You Make The Call
Great baseball songs NOT about baseball
- How about all the baseball songs that aren't explicitly about baseball but are evocative of the feelings that baseball arouses in the human breast? Here's my take on the top 5, but I'd be eager to hear others' thoughts. http://kooztop5.blogspot.com/2012/04/top-5-best-baseball-songs-that-have.html

Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request
- Really good list, but Steve Goodman's "A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request" is another for the list.

Another great baseball (fan) song
- Here's another one in my humble opinion: "Doris From Rego Park" by a songwriter I hadn't heard of until recently named Don Rosler. His song is just so touching.

Van Lingle Mungo
- it was litany of baseball names and the song centered on Van Lingle Mungo. It was just a bunch of rhymed names. Love to have a copy of the lyrics, but have not found it on line. Editor's note: It's by Dave Frishberg, and here's a YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6nhcuLuCqM&feature=related

A Glaring Omission
- "Big League" by Tom Cochrane & Red Rider. Poignant lyrics & melody combine for a powerful track.

My oh My
- Macklemore is sweet, about the Mariners and their run into the American League Championship Series. I was amazed, I hope you like it.

Here's another one
- Here's another one: Skip Batten, "St. Louis Browns," the story of a long forgotten hopelessly incredible baseball team.

Sweet Philly Soul
- You forgot "Love Is Like a Baseball Game"- The Intruders

Life is A Ballgame
- You must not have ever heard "Life Is A Ballgame" by Sister Wynona Carr, as it is the perfect baseball song, including the vintage organ playing in the background. References to Jesus standing at the home plate, Solomon being umpire, and Satan trying to strike you out elevate this song to one of the true baseball classics. Once you hear it, your baseball (and religious life) will be forever changed for the better. First time I heard it was driving in Louisiana on some radio station. Couldn't believe my ears. I now play it every time I pull into Dodger Stadium.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame
- It should be noted that the lyrics you have given, and which are the ones most people know, are really only the chorus of the song. There are actually two verses to the song as well about a young lady who loves baseball to the exclusion of any other form of entertainment. If anyone is interested in the complete song one place you can find it is on the soundtrack to Ken Burns' Baseball (sung by Carly Simon).
