From the article: 2009 American League East
Baseball guide Scott Kendrick's picks:
- Boston Red Sox: Solid just about everywhere.
- New York Yankees: Money can't buy everything, but will likely buy a wild card.
- Tampa Bay Rays: They'll be in it, but 90 wins won't be enough.
- Baltimore Orioles: Finally some light at the end of the tunnel.
- Toronto Blue Jays: Cost-cutting? Welcome to last place.

Red Sox win
- 1. Boston Red Sox - Great rotation and best pen in bigs. With Mike Lowell batting seventh, you know you have a good lineup. 2. New York Yankees - Tex, CC and AJ will lead team to Wild Card 3. Tampa Bay Rays - Longoria and young rotation will lead Rays to 85+ wins, Crawford will easily bounce back 4. Toronto Blue Jays - Roy Halladay will win the Cy Young - around 21 W- 210 K- 3.00 ERA- but other starters will fall 5. Baltimore Orioles - Team will need to re-build all year long. Markakis and Roberts will be the only All-Stars on the team. Brad Bergesen will win ROY with around 12 wins, 200 innings, 120 K's and 1 shutout.

2 WEEKS into the season
- Have second-best record, Jays are first in AL East, are first in almost every offensive category, will win the AL East and just get by Red Sox.
