  • Named first-team freshman All-American in 2003 at the University of Miami and was named national Freshman of the Year. He hit .364 with 17 home runs in 242 at-bats.
  • Selected in the first round (fifth overall) in the 2005 draft.
  • Hit .313 with 42 home runs in 768 minor-league at-bats spanning three seasons. Began the 2007 season at Triple-A Nashville, hitting 10 home runs in 117 at-bats before being called up to Milwaukee.
  • Career Highlights:

    • Was selected NL Rookie of the Month for June and July in 2007.
    • His .634 slugging percentage was an all-time rookie record, breaking the .618 mark set by Mark McGwire in 1987. He hit .324 with 34 home runs and 97 RBI in 142 games.
    • Led the National League in slugging percentage as a rookie and was named Rookie of the Year in the National League, edging Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki.
