On Aug. 15, 2011, Minnesota Twins designated hitter Jim Thome, at age 40, hit two home runs in a game for the 46th time in his 21-year career in Major League Baseball.
His second homer that night at Comerica Park in Detroit was an opposite field shot to left that was his 600th career home run, becoming the eighth player in MLB history to achieve the feat.
The others: Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez and Sammy Sosa.
