Led by National League MVP Buster Posey, the San Francisco Giants won their second World Series in three years in a World Series sweep of the Detroit Tigers.
It's also four out of five for the senior circuit. It's the first time in 30 years -- since the Pirates, Phillies, Dodgers and Cardinals won four in a row from 1980-82 -- that one league has won that many titles in a row.
A Giants pitching staff that never relented and a team that won six consecutive elimination games, then never faced one in the World Series as they finished their title run with seven victories in a row.
The Giants were the first champion that hit the least amount of homers in the majors since the 1982 Cardinals.
