  • One of the top closers in history, he had 310 saves and his 115 relief victories is third all-time.
  • A nine-time All-Star, he won a World Series with the Yankees in 1978.
  • Was one of the first free agents in history.
  • In 1981, he saved all three wins over Milwaukee during the divisional playoffs and both Yankees wins over the Dodgers in the World Series.
  • Holds the Yankees career record for ERA (2.14) and hits per nine innings (6.59) among pitchers with at least 500 innings.
  • Had one of the best fastballs of all time, routinely reaching closer to 100 mph in his prime.
