Career Highlights:
- One of the great hitters at the turn of the 20th century, he batted .313 in his career and .367 in 1900 at age 24 with the Phillies.
- Led the AL in stolen bases twice, triples three times and hitting in 1905. Hit three triples in a game twice, once in each league.
- Was once offered straight up in a trade for a 21-year-old Ty Cobb, but the Indians turned down the deal.
After Retirement:
- Farmed and hunted in his native Ohio, raised trotting horses and worked in real estate.
