A rundown of the awards, with voting, of the marquee awards in Major League Baseball for the 2009 season.
Rookies of the Year
- American League: Andrew Bailey, who had 26 saves for the Oakland A's, was the eighth Oakland player selected in the history of the Award.
- National League: Left fielder Chris Coghlan, who hit .324 for the Marlins, became the third player in Florida history to win the honor.

Managers of the Year
- American League: Mike Scioscia, who led the Angels to their fifth AL West title in six years, was named the top AL manager for the second time.
- National League: Jim Tracy, hired in May for the floundering Rockies, was named the top NL manager after leading Colorado to the NL wild card.

Cy Young Awards
- American League: Zack Greinke only won 16 games, but considering the Royals finished in a tie for last place in the AL Central, his win total was spectacular. He had a 2.16 ERA, the lowest for an AL Cy Young winner since 2000.
- National League: The Giants' Tim Lincecum repeated as the Cy Young winner despite winning just 15 games, the fewest in the history of the award. It was the closest three-way balloting since 1987, as Lincecum barely beat out Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals.
Most Valuable Player Awards
- American League: Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer was just one vote short of being a unanimous selection, winning the MVP award over the Yankees' Mark Teixeira. Mauer hit .365, the highest batting average for a catcher all-time.
- National League: The St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols won the award for the second consecutive season and the third time overall. He was a unanimous MVP selection, the first since 2002.
