  • Pujols is the 11th player in NL history to win two MVP awards. Pujols finished in the top four in the voting for the seventh time in his eight major-league seasons.
  • Two players who started the season in the American League finished in the top six in the voting - the Dodgers' Manny Ramirez (Red Sox) and the Brewers' CC Sabathia (Indians).
  • Pujols is the 16th St. Louis Cardinals player to win the MVP award. Only the New York Yankees (20) have more. Before Pujols, who also won in 2005, the last Cardinals winner was Willie McGee in 1985.
