History:
The franchise was founded in 1961 as the Washington Senators, after the original Senators moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1972, the “new” Senators moved to Arlington, Texas, which is located between Dallas and Fort Worth.

- On May 1, 1991, 44-year-old pitcher Nolan Ryan threw his seventh career no-hitter, beating the Toronto Blue Jays.
