History:

The franchise was founded in 1961 as the Los Angeles Angels, an American League expansion team. The team has also been known as the California Angels (1965-1996) and the Anaheim Angels (1997-2004).

Memorable Moment:

The Angels won their only title in 2002 in the highest-scoring World Series in history, beating the San Francisco Giants. The Angels rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the eighth inning of Game 6 to win 6-5, then won Game 7.
