It didn't take long for the fantasy baseball outfielders chart to need an adjustment.
Curtis Granderson was slated to be among the first 15 or so off the board. But in his first exhibition at-bat on Sunday, the New York Yankees outfielder was hit by a pitch in his right forearm and broke a bone, putting him on the disabled list until at least early May. (It also likely scuttles the plans to move the veteran center fielder to left field, as he won't have spring training to learn the position.)
Initially, I've moved Granderson down 10 spots in the outfield, into the next tier of players. He could still hit 30 homers if he comes back healthy, but is now a middle-rounder at best. He hits for good power, but not for average.
Here are the top five fantasy outfielders:
- Mike Trout, Angels
- Ryan Braun, Brewers
- Andrew McCutchen, Pirates
- Matt Kemp, Dodgers
- Jose Bautista, Blue Jays
Here's a look at the top 60 outfielders, plus 10 more, divided into five tiers.
