For the fifth season, About.com Baseball is back with its comprehensive fantasy baseball rankings. Today we move to the biggest crapshoot position in the draft, shortstop.
The top choice is a guy who gets injured a little too much, Troy Tulowitzki. No. 2 is Jose Reyes, starting over in a new league. No. 3 is Hanley Ramirez, who used to be the top choice but has had as steep a fall as anybody.
So there's plenty of risk involved. Here's a look at the top 20 shortstops, plus five more, divided into five tiers.
The top five:
- Troy Tulowitzki, Rockies
- Jose Reyes, Blue Jays
- Hanley Ramirez, Dodgers
- Starlin Castro, Cubs
- Ian Desmond, Nationals
2013 position rankings
- Catchers
- First basemen
- Second basemen
- Shortstops
- Third basemen (coming Friday)
