For the fifth season, About.com Baseball is back with its comprehensive fantasy baseball rankings. Today, we move to a position with some scarcity as far as offense goes, second base.
There were quite a few disappointments at this spot in 2012, such as Ian Kinsler, Dustin Ackley and even Dustin Pedroia, who is still solid but hasn't produced at the MVP level since he won it in 2008.
There's one guy who continues to produce at the top level, though, and there's no reason to believe Robinson Cano is going to slow down soon.
The top five:
- Robinson Cano, Yankees
- Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox
- Ian Kinsler, Rangers
- Brandon Phillips, Reds
- Jason Kipnis, Indians
Here's a look at the top 20 second basemen, plus five more, divided into five tiers.
2013 position rankings
- Catchers
- First basemen
- Second basemen
- Shortstops (coming Thursday)
