All-Time Lineups Matchup No. 5: Twins vs. Brewers

By January 15, 2012

Follow me on:

Milwaukee and Minneapolis are very, very cold today, so let's warm things up with an All-Time Lineups matchup: Brewers vs. Twins.

The Twins certainly have the deeper pitching, but the Brewers' lineup is really solid. It's led by soon-to-be-former Brewers slugger Prince Fielder, who still hasn't signed this offseason, which is certainly surprising for mid-January. Albert Pujols set the market for first basemen more than a month ago. Fielder was in Texas this weekend, and it certainly doesn't feel like a bidding war, as it seems that neither the Nationals, Rangers, Marlins nor anybody else is really going cuckoo for the slugger at the moment. (I still like the Nats' chances.)

For comparison purposes, the Twins' all-time lineup doesn't include the history of the Washington Senators.

Let's look at the starting lineups, picking the best at each position in any one season. (As always, click the team name for the full lineups, stats, and arguments.)

Yes, Paul Molitor plays for both teams as the DH. Maybe he could just run back and forth between dugouts.
