Game 4: Curse? No chance; Sox in sweep
My, how things have changed in Boston. Once cursed, now a juggernaut.
And they're the kings of streaks, twice over.
In 2004, the Red Sox rallied from a 3-0 deficit, winning the last eight games to come back against the Yankees and beat the Cardinals in the World Series. Three years later, it's a seven-game streak after another World Series sweep of the Colorado Rockies.
"I think with the Marlins no one expected us to do this and I think with the Red Sox people expect you to win and I think both are very satisfying," said World Series MVP Mike Lowell, who won with the Marlins in 2003. He hit .400 (6-for-15), scored six runs and drove in four.
You could also have made an MVP case for Jonathan Papelbon, who saved three of the four games, and preserved a 4-3 game on Sunday night in Game 4 as the Red Sox finished off the Rockies, who had won 21 of 22 entering the series, but lost their last four against a team that was undoubtedly the best in the game this season. The Red Sox as a team batted .333 in the World Series.
"At the end of the day, you look back on the game. How did you execute?" Rockies manager Clint Hurdle told the Associated Press. "They executed better than us all four games."

I saw on Fox News, after the Red Sox won the first two games, that 78% of teams that win the first two games of the World Series usually goes on to win the series.
I am so very happy for the Red Sox! They are my favorite team. I live north of Boston and have been to the oldest baseball park in the country (several times) – Fenway Park. It is awesome there. I really believe that Red Sox fans are the most passionate fans around! Congrats to the Boston Red Sox for winning the World Series, once again. In fact, the Red Sox that has won two series in the new millenium!!
In my last post I was trying to say something, and it came out wrong lol. About the new millenium, the Red Sox were the ONLY team to win two World Series championships in the new millenium. Cool! They are like “The Little Team That Could!” (I’m referring to the story about the train trying to go up the very steep hill…
